On April 14th, 2017 in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh attended Bangali New Year opening ceremony, accompanied by the commander of the Bangladesh Army and important government officials in Bangladesh. Prime Minister Sheikh personally launched the Hatirjhee Lake musical fountain opening ceremony and attended the spectacular and stunning musical fountain show with government officials. The local mainstream media and newspapers all covered this grand occasion. 

Prime Minister Sheikh inaugurated an eye-catching state of the art and “a grand musical dancing fountain” and amphitheatre at Hatirjheel, with a capacity of 2,000, a popular recreational spot in capital city Dhaka, to attract more visitors and tourists , on Thursday on the eve of Bangla New Year ‘Pahela Boisakh’. 

PM opened those under the Rajuk project titled ‘Integrated Development of Hatirjheel area including Beganbri Canal’ through her videoconference from her official residence Ganobhahan on Thursday morning. “It is a gift for the people of the capital as well as the country of entertainment”, she said at inauguration.
